We're looking for a Senior Tools Programmer to create and maintain Daybreak's game engine that is used on our H1Z1 and Planetside 2 titles.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

• Be an advocate for improved tools, workflow, and pipelines that increase designer efficiency and capabilities

• Interface with designers across multiple teams to seek feedback on tools, workflow, and pipelines

• Work with developers to define requirements list for tools and engine development

• Collaborate with others in the Game Technology group to design and implement improvements

• Prioritize tasks to create and maintain a roadmap for development

• Educate developers on the use of design tools and pipelines through personal demos and documentation

• Perform competitive analysis of other game engines and toolsets

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of professional C++ experience

• Experience building GUI based tools

• Experience implementing in C#

• Creation of tools for use by other developers

• Effective communicator

• Proficient at writing specs for feature development

• Strong understanding of object oriented software engineering principles and methodologies

• Excellent communicator

• Shows initiative with the ability to work efficiently and independently

• Drives for quality

• Team player

• Highly organized

• Critical thinker

• Creative problem solver

• Empathetic and a good listener

PLUSES:

• Proven track record with shipped titles

• Deep understanding of the major areas of design (systems, content, narrative)

• Integration with C++ libraries

• Experience using Python and/or other scripting languages

• Experience working with SQL databases

• Proficient with Perforce & Hansoft

• Proficient with competitive and popular toolsets (like Unity or UE4)

• MMO experience
