Our client is seeking a Computational Biologist, to provide technical expertise and leadership to drive advanced computational methods enabling oncolytic vaccine and immunotherapy drug discovery. You will be responsible for leading a group of three computational and data scientists and in integrating novel capabilities to the existing platform the company utilizes for drug discovery. You will be responsible for innovating a platform which utilizes patient samples and extracts large data sets in feeding discovery teams decision making. Job Responsibilities: -Work within an interdisciplinary team of molecular biologists, cellular biologists, computational biologists and software engineers focused on developing novel vaccine candidates a novel propriety platform that is currently being updated and improved. -Lead the development and implementation of automated methods, analytical tools and software to deliver insights and hypotheses from multi-dimensional biological data sets. -Process, analyze and interpret high volumes of cellular profiling data as part of internal and external scientific studies. -Integrate innovative analysis and visualization tools for multi-omics data sets, in the context of studies of cancer-patient samples. -Present scientific and technical data to both internal and external scientific colleagues in a clear and cohesive manner. -Lead a team of computational and data scientists responsible for research and clinical data analysis. Job Requirements: -Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Computational biology, 5+ years of Biotech or Pharmaceutical Industry experience. -Strong scientific understanding of cellular biology, molecular biology and genomics is desirable, including experience with transcriptomics, proteomics or cellular profiling data . -Experience in cancer vaccine or immunology research is preferred. -Demonstrated expertise in delivering insights and hypotheses from complex multi-dimensional biological data in a biomedical context. -In depth knowledge of relevant public and proprietary databases, methods and tools (TCGA, NCBI, UCSC Genome Browser, IGV). -Knowledge of programming, scripting and statistical languages such as R, python, C++, Java, and Perl is highly desirable. -Demonstrated ability to present data (oral and written) to a multidisciplinary audience in a clear and cohesive manner.
