• Lead a multidisciplinary team to identify new anti-tumor targets, TCRs, antibodies, genes, and molecular sequences to aid in our development and understanding of CAR T and TCR biology in various oncologic disease settings

• Design new algorithms, technologies, pipelines, and methodologies for analyzing and integrating single-cell data and other complex, large biological data sets with clinical data for novel inferences and predictive analytics regarding cancer immunotherapy

• Develop an overarching Research QS strategy and implementation plan for ongoing R&D informatics and data science needs

• Collaborate with key stakeholders in groups across Juno that include R&D, Tech Ops, and Tech R&D as well as internal stakeholders in Clinical QS and CMC QS

• Create and present strategic plans, progress reports, and technical summaries for internal and external stakeholders

• Lead recruitment and supervision of new staff

• Manage vendor and academic founder and partner relationships

Qualifications:

• PhD in Data Science with a Genomics focus, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related discipline with a very strong publication record demonstrating bioinformatics expertise and the ability to perform high throughput data analyses

• 5 – 10 years postgraduate work engineering, evaluating, and applying software tools and analysis of high-content, multi-modal life sciences data

• 5+ years in a results-oriented commercial life science R&D environment with a strong record of goal oriented project triage, oversight and delivery.

• 2+ years building and managing R&D and/or informatics support teams, including working across multiple departments and disciplines. Fluency in programming and use of scripting languages such as R, Python, Perl, C/C++, Java, and Unix Bash with an emphasis on NGS analysis

• Exposure to workflow management (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow) tools for reproducible pipeline development

• Experience working with bulk and single cell next-generation data analyses (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, immune sequencing) and familiarity with genomics data processing pipelines

• Ability to design novel statistical algorithms and interpret data from large biological datasets with experience in machine learning methodologies

• Experience with designing, building and using database and analysis tools in the context of DNA and protein sequences, vector constructs, cell lines, image analysis, cellular pathways, and molecular ensembles

• Experience in oncology, manufacturing and/or clinical testing of cancer therapeutics

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce effective graphical representations of large datasets in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment
