An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join Merck as a Bioinformatics Manager. You will manage a bioinformatics group and coordinate with other departments (R&D, Marketing/Sales, Operation, Innovation Center, etc.), to process different types of data sets (genomics, NGS, proteomics, metabolomics data, publications, etc.). Also, you will develop databases, analytical tools, and web-based applications to support internal and external customers, with a focus on computational and bioinformatics services. We seek candidates with solid data background in research as well as strong analytical skills, communication, interpersonal skills and business acumen. The ideal candidate requires a wide variety of machine learning, statistical and bio/chemo-informatics technologies to perform analysis and generate reports. Who you are:

- Master degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Life Sciences or related fields
- 5+ years of programming (Perl, Python, Java, R etc.) and data analysis experience
- 3+ years of group management experience
- Proficient in current approaches to software development, integration, testing, deployment and support
- Knowledge of high-performance computing and cloud-computing and big data
- Strong oral and written communication skills
