Jr. Web Developer

Job Description:
Well-known pharmaceutical company in South San Francisco is looking for a Jr. Web Developer/Designer to improve the website. You will perform various data analysis tasks to support the Bioinformatics department.

Responsibilities:

-Building a relational database

-Building a website to display parts of the database in tabular and graphical format

-Building an API for the database and website

-QC, curation, and maintenance of datasets generated internally and from outside vendors

Required skills:

-Web development and design JavaScript

-Proficiency in a scripting language, such as Python and/or Perl

-Relational database design and query, such as MongoDB

-Familiarity with working in a Linux environment

Desired skills:

-Visualization using JavaScript D3

-Knowledge of genetics and bioinformatics

-Data analysis experience using R

Education:

-Bachelor's degree in computer science, bioinformatics or computational biology.

-Industry experience a highly preferred
