Job Description:
Teva's innovative global R&D is hiring a Personalized and Predictive Medicine and Pharmacogenomics (PMP) Expert, for a dynamic position responsible and accountable for devising and executing the PMP strategy, serving as the point person for scientific advice on portfolio compounds and new business development opportunities. The PMP Expert will work collaboratively with interfaces across the entire company to effectively deliver PMP value to the drug discovery, development and repositioning (NTE) process.The successful candidate will serve as leader of pharmacogenomics research, associating genomic and other biomarkers with drug response and safety, as well as lead genomic characterization of drugs' mode of action and toxicogenomics. Teva's innovative portfolio is currently focused on CNS (including neurodegeneration, multiple sclerosis, pain and psychiatry) and respiratory as the main early development therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:

Innovatively collaborate to devise novel strategic vision that leverages various components of Teva's strengths and Personalized Medicine aspects of healthcare.

• Accountable for integrating PMP activities effectively in the assigned clinical development programs in collaboration with all relevant functions. Targeted therapeutics, life cycle management (LCM) and companion diagnostics development are all components of the role responsibilities.

• Advising R&D functions as an expert in all PMP related aspects of scientific principles, regulatory guidance, intellectual property (IP), assay development, commercial value, etc. Providing expert support to the evaluation of in-licensing compound and collaboration opportunities.

• Work closely in collaboration with various development functions to identify opportunities to enhance candidate selection and to develop comprehensive PMP scientific and business case plans for candidates selected to move into the clinic. Further develop these plans throughout the life cycle of the compound.

• Design Pharmacogenomics and biomarker studies, composing the relevant documentation and being accountable for its on-time execution.

• Collaborative responsibility to ensure selection of cost-effective and appropriately validated assays, on time.

• Responsibility for collaboratively developing the statistical analysis plan (SAP), or equivalent, of PMP programs within and parallel to the clinical development program.

• Proactive identification of challenges and development of contingency plans as appropriate.

• Participate in monthly portfolio review and journal clubs with the PMP management and other relevant functions.

• Present in international conferences, internally and externally, demonstrating deep scientific expertise and flawless delivery to all audiences (including regulatory bodies, key opinion leaders, payors, etc) Reports to: VP, Global Head of Personalized Medicine and Pharmacogenomics Location: Full time position, Great Valley, Malvern, Pennsylvania

Qualifications:

MD and/or PhD in human genetics, genomics, molecular biology, computational biology, similar • Experience in pharmacogenomics and/or biomarker applied research.

• Knowledgeable (and preferably recognized leader) in the field of population genetics, bioinformatics and statistical analysis and interpretation of multivariate pharmacogenomics and/or biomarker data.

• Publication record or industry experience in fields associated with PMP and/or biomarkers.

• Fluent in English.

• Excellent communications and presentation skills.
