PhD positions are available in fields spanning the life sciences: bioinformatics and computational biology; biophysics; structural biology and biochemistry; molecular biology and cell biology; developmental biology and genetics; microbiome science, evolution and ecology. These positions are offered by the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) “From Molecules to Organisms”, based in Tuebingen, Germany. Qualifications: Basic qualification: an excellent University degree (obtained or pending), at Masters level or equivalent, in the life sciences or a related discipline. In addition, applicants should possess skills and knowledge matching the proposed area of doctoral research, a high motivation and passion for research, and an excellent standard of spoken and written English. GRE General Test scores are required from applicants with degrees obtained outside the European Higher Education Area Anyone - female or male, any nationality or background - who meets our academic requirements is encouraged to apply.

Our program provides an interdisciplinary environment for doctoral research in the life sciences. We want to endow the next generation of scientists with the skills and knowledge to study complex biological processes that cannot be adequately understood within the limits of a single discipline.
