Job Description:
As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our international research team at the Institute for Diabetes and Obesity (IDO) of the newly established Helmholtz Diabetes Center (HDC) in Munich.

Job Description
Develop and apply computational methods for data integration of high dimensional data sets (Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics). Additional integration and analysis of genomic and metabolic data and additional clinical parameters. Development and evaluation of integrated metabolic models with regard to insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes in different tissues.
Master’s Degree and PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or a related subject. High motivation, curiosity, and commitment to scientific excellence. Strong programming skills. Good knowledge of statistics. A genuine interest in quantitative biology especially in metabolism/diabetes. Prior experience in data analysis/modelling of biological omics data (transcriptomics). Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment.
