Job Description:
Bioinformatics Lab in the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at the University of Louisville has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research position in bioinformatics and computational biology. The research project will be focused on the analysis of alternative mRNA splicing and its regulation in eukaryotic cells using high-throughput sequencing (RNA-seq, CLIP-seq, etc.) and related genomic technologies, including their applications in biology. The candidate will also work on developing novel computational and statistical methods for analysis of massive genome and transcriptome data. Highly motivated candidates with prior relevant experience are encouraged to apply. The position offers an excellent opportunity to conduct research in stimulating environment and to collaborate with bioinformaticians, biologists, and clinicians.

Position Qualifications:

The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in one of the following areas: Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other discipline with strong quantitative background. Knowledge in biology or genetics is desired but not required. The candidate should be familiar with program languages R, Perl or Python.
