Postdoc: Evolutionary GenomicsIndiana UniversityUnited States-Indiana-Bloomington An NSF-funded postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Matthew Hahn in the Department of Biology and School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University, Bloomington. The work will examine the evolution of gene gain and loss through the study of gene families in a phylogenetic context. Our lab has developed the statistical and computational tools necessary to study these phenomena, and we are looking for a motivated individual to extend these methods to studies involving hundreds to thousands of genomes. The postdoctoral candidate will also be encouraged to carry out independent work in the lab.

There is a wide variety of research going on in the lab in addition to the current project. For a summary of work in the lab, please see: http://www.indiana.edu/~hahnlab/ The candidate must have a Ph.D., preferably in phylogenetics, population genetics, statistical genetics, or computer science.
