Postdoc position in Bioinformatics & Computational BiologyUniversity of CalgaryDepartments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Canada-Calgary Applicants for one full-time postdoctoral fellow position in the area of Bioinformatics or Computational Biology as applied to genomics-related problems are invited to join a research group led by Dr. Quan Long, Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Medical Genetics, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, and member of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute for Child & Maternal Health. More information on Dr. Long can be found at http://www.ucalgary.ca/bmb/profiles/dr-quan-long Qualified applicants may have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in computer sciences, mathematics/statistics, bioinformatics, or related discipline. Experimentally trained candidates with strong computer programing skills are also welcome to apply. Excellent programming skills as well as interest in solving biological or medical problems are expected. The successful candidates will join a blossoming multidisciplinary and inter-Faculty team of bioinformaticians, clinical researchers and basic scientists whose research spans model organisms to human disease. The research topic in the group could be flexible, subject to mutual interests of the candidates and the supervisor.
