Job Description:
Postdoc positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Bo Li, Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics and Department of Immunology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The PI finished postdoctoral training at Dr. Xiaole (Shirley) Liu lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and after joining UTSW, the ongoing research directions are focused on developing novel computational/bioinformatics tools for analyzing large cancer genomics and/or immunogenomics data, to understand tumor-immune interactions and facilitate the development of cancer immunotherapies. Current research projects include 1) algorithm development to analyze tumor-infiltrating immune repertoire data; 2) analysis of cancer genomics data collected from clinical samples to identify predictive biomarkers of checkpoint blockade immunotherapies; 3) methodology development for studying the interaction between tumor and human microbiota. Individuals with interest in any of the perspectives are encouraged to apply. Research will be conducted in a collaborative environment at UTSW, working closely with Dr. Yang-Xin Fu lab as well as other labs to address related questions. Qualified applicants are expected to hold a PhD degree in Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science/Statistics or other quantitative science, with solid programming skills, strong publication record and the ability to work independently. An ideal candidate would have extensive background in cancer genomics data analysis and computational methodology development. Additional expertise in biostatistics, immunology or microbiology would be a plus. This opening is an ideal opportunity for recent PhD graduates interested in a career in medicine and/or biomedical research.
