Job Description:
The Koelle lab at the University of Washington has an immediate opening at the post-doctoral level to join 7 current lab members. Newly funded projects include investigation of skin-resident memory human T-cells specific for a cutaneous pathogen including before/after vaccine specimens, investigation of the role of herpesvirus-specific immunity in severe cutaneous drug reactions, and T-cell immune monitoring for a human vaccine clinical trial. The lab focuses on adaptive T-cell responses to viral infections using a suite of modern molecular immunology tools. Pathogens include alphaherpesviruses and oncogenic polyomaviruses. Recently, our historical focus on antigen/epitope discovery and prioritization has expanded into recombinant TCR expression. The Fellow will have ample opportunities for networking with small to large commercial partners as well as NGO and academic collaborators in the area of vaccinology/immunology. Good opportunity for scientist interested in biopharma in the area of vaccinology and infectious diseases or tumor immunology. Optional participation in mouse HSV vaccine model work is available if interested. Excellent communications and team skills and experience in cellular immunology are required. Multitasking and assumption of responsibility for discrete deliverables is expected. Molecular biology and bioinformatics experience would be helpful and appreciated. Please search Koelle DM in pubmed to review publications.
