Job Description:
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Washington University School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate in bioinformatics. We are combining computational data modeling, high-throughput biology such as RNA-seq, as well as standard molecular biology techniques to characterize the functions of microRNAs and other non-coding RNAs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1-The researcher will work on microRNA studies by combining computational modeling with high-throughput experimental data.

2-MicroRNAs are non-coding small RNAs that are extensively involved in many biological processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or a related field.
  • Other biology candidates with extensive experience in computer science or statistics will also be considered.
  • Extensive experience in at least one commonly used language such as Perl or Python.
  • Previous experience in high-throughput sequencing analysis or machine learning techniques is a plus.
