Job Description:
A Postdoctoral Research position in statistical genetics and genomics is available in the department of Statistics at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park. This NIH-funded position involves developing and applying statistical and computational methods for integration of large-scale genetic, epigenomic and transcriptome data in disease genetics and gene regulation studies, especially next generation sequencing-based data analysis, single-cell data analysis, and studies of transcriptional control and disease.

The work in our group focuses primarily on understanding regulatory mechanisms involved in human complex phenotypes. We seek an individual with strong computing, statistical and genetic backgrounds and who has expertise in some subset of high dimensional data analysis, statistical genomics, genome-wide analysis, and transcriptional control mechanisms. The work will involve both methodological research within our group and collaboration on multidisciplinary projects. A Ph.D. in a quantitative field, e.g., statistics or biostatistics, computer sciences, strong quantitative research background, programming proficiency, genetic knowledge, as well as good written and oral communication skills.
