Job Description:
Our Client, one of the leading diagnostic companies, is looking to hire a Principal Scientist, Bioinformatics in Pleasanton, CA. Responsibilities: • Work proactively with external and internal collaborators (including scientists and software engineers) to develop, test, and integrate pipelines for diagnostics applications. • Design pipelines that are efficient, robust, and leverage multicore compute resources. • Devise and run computational tests to validate assay and pipeline performances. • Collaborate with scientists and UI/UX team to develop custom solutions, novel data analyses, and customer facing reports. • Develop or improve methods to analyze NGS data, including cutting edge NGS platforms. Requirements: • Experience working with NGS data and analyses (required). • Experience with Python or R (required). • Experience with Java or C/C++ (required). • Experience with software development cycle (e.g. git, JIRA, code review, testing). • Experience working in cross functional teams. • Great communication, writing and presentation skills. • Ph.D. in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
