Job Description:
Major/Essential Duties of Job:

Provides basic molecular lab support and Next Generation Library technique with ability to multitask a high-through-put volume of samples under direction of senior lab staff. Prepares progress reports and attends project meetings.

Occasional Duties: Other job related duties as required.

Required Education: B.S. degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or related area.

Preferred Education: M.S. degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or related area.

Required Experience: None

Preferred Experience:

One or more years of experience in molecular biology setting with protocol development. Next Generation Library Preparation experience.

Required licenses, certifications, or registrations: None

Preferred licenses, certifications, or registrations: None

Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment. Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks as directed by the supervisor. Strong communication and organizational skills and attention to details. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred special knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Familiarity with appropriate laboratory equipment used in a molecular biology setting and Next Generation Library preparation. Knowledge of RNA & DNA purification, quantification analyses and data interpretation. Molecular biology laboratory skills.

Other requirements or other factors:

Continuation of this position is dependent on availability of funding and renewal of service contract.
