Job Description:
Position is responsible for performing various molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques in support of lab and PI research goals. Range of duties includes, but is not limited to: conducting procedures, modifying procedures as needed, data collection and analysis, tissue culture, recombinant DNA techniques and laboratory maintenance.

Education: B.S. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or similar is required.

Experience:

Required:

-Minimum 2 years of experience with laboratory techniques.

-Working knowledge of Linux command line.

Preferred:

-Experience with analysis of next-generation sequencing data (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and ATAC-seq, or related).

-Experience with high performance computing or cloud computing a plus.

Special Requirements:

-Must be willing to work in an mammalian cell biology-related research environment.

-Must be willing to work an adjusted schedule to support research needs.

-Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.

-Successful completion of the Institute’s background investigation.

Laboratory research focuses on understanding how chromatin structure contributes to normal development and oncogenic transformation. The lab studies the BAF ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex, an essential regulator of chromatin structure that is frequently mutated in human cancer, and seeks to understand the mechanistic basis of its tumor suppressor role.
