Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated research technician to assist with these studies. Experimental procedures will include molecular biology, tissue culture, microscopy and working with mice. Responsibilities will include executing experiments, record keeping, interpreting data and communicating with the rest of the research team. Excellent communication skills, organization, accountability, and a positive attitude are a must. This position is an ideal springboard for recent college graduates who are interested in pursuing medical and/or graduate school. We encourage applicants to consider a 24-month commitment for this position.

Requirements:

There is one position opening for either a Research Technician I or II level. The appropriate position level will be contingent upon the final candidate's qualifications and position needs.

Required Education/Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of science OR college-level coursework in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, computational biology AND equivalent lab experience

Required Credentials: - N/A

Preferred:

- At least one year experience in a laboratory/research setting.

- Experience in collecting, analyzing and plotting data using Excel, Matlab or R.

- Research experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, animal-handling and tissue culture.

We use high-throughput sequencing and cutting-edge molecular biological techniques to investigate the development and diseases of the central nervous system with a focus on the visual system.
