Job Description:
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the group of Prof. Alexey Nesvizhskii at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor (www.nesvilab.org). The fellow will work in the area of mass spectrometry-based proteomics. We are particularly interested in developing improved computational methods and tools for post-translational modification analysis and for data independent acquisition proteomics (DIA) data. The ideal candidate will have a Ph. D. in bioinformatics or related field, strong record of publications, and good programming skills (Python, Java, relational databases, Linux). Experience with mass spectrometry data analysis is required. Responsibilities: -Development of new algorithms and software for mass spectrometry-based proteomics data. -Publication of manuscripts in peer review journals. -Assist with maintenance and development of computational tools previously developed in the lab. -Assist with data analysis as part of collaborative studies. Required Qualifications: -Ph.D. -Previous experience with developing algorithms and software for mass spectrometry data. -Programming using Java and Python. Desired Qualifications: -SQL -Experience with implementing and running bioinformatics pipelines on Linux. -Statistical analysis and data visualization using R.
