Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Fellow – Single cell transcriptomics, Bioinformatics, at the Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh

The bioinformatics group develops and applies computational methods and pipelines to study epigenetic and transcription control in Mammals using genome-wide data. Joshi group is seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician as a postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team.

This position is funded by Roslin Institute Strategic Grant Funding from the BBSRC and will focus on the development of novel methods and pipelines for unravelling epigenetic and transcription control features from multi-omics data. This position will contribute to specific areas of interest including understanding vertebrate development at a single cell level and the prediction of regulatory elements in farm animals.

You are required to have a very strong background in programming. Additionally, a PhD degree in bioinformatics or computational science is essential together with previous experience in working with large-scale omics data an advantage. You will provide bioinformatics support to the other experimental groups within the developmental biology division at the Roslin institute. It is therefore expected that you will work with experimental biologists on large-scale omics data. Familiarity and an understanding of mammalian epigenetic and transcription control is essential.
