This position is based in Lilly San Diego, collaborates with global Research IT team, support the implementation of biopharmaceutical informatics solutions across multiple Lilly sites: San Diego and Indianapolis. The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of biology, protein science, informatics, problem solving, analytical techniques and strong software development skills to:
- Foster collaborations with scientists in San Diego, New York and Indianapolis to design and implement workflow automation for data manipulation.
- Working with global biotherapeutic scientists on biopharmaceutical IT system adaption.
- Research, investigate sequence analysis motif detection algorithm and next generation sequencing pipeline; integrate with internal pipeline.
- Research, evaluate, implement in silico pipeline for immunogenicity prediction tool inside Lilly.
- Apply machine learning algorithm, develop model to infer association of between sequence motifs and biophysical properties or functional activities.
- Develop, support the novel informatics solutions for bioinformaticians to drive the interrogation of biopharmaceuticals data for speedy decision making
- PhD in computer science, bioinformatics or computational biology.
- Experienced in bioinformatics technologies, such as sequence alignment, clustering and blasting, Splicing, Next Generation Sequencing.
- Knowledge in antibody discovery, protein science and engineering is highly desired.
- Proficient in data mining, machine learning algorithms for pattern detection and modeling.
- Proficient in one of the programming language such as Python, Perl, R
- Proficient in Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently to analyze customer requirements and design solutions.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Agile learner and self-motivated team player.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical company or life science industry is desired
