Job Description:
The primary goal of NCCU RCMI Center for Health Disparities Research (RCHDR) is to develop and strengthen the research infrastructure at NCCU for conduct cutting edge health disparities research and foster the next generation of minority biomedical researchers.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Research Scientist/Assistant Research Professor 2: This is 2 of 2 Research Scientist/Research Assistant Professor positions that will be based at the Julius L. Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute (JLC-BBRI) of NCCU and in the Research Infrastructure Core of the NCCU-RCMI Center for Health Disparities Research (RCHDR). The Research Scientist/ Research Assistant Professor will be working with the relevant research labs coordinating and doing data analysis in health disparities research in the BBRI and the NCCU-RCMI program.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Research Scientist is expected to be involved in supporting multiple investigators and ongoing research activities at NCCU, as well as developing their own research work. The Research Scientist requires active interactions and collaborations with scientists on campus, and will be supervised scientifically and administratively. Highly interactive interpersonal skills for effective communication with project team members and scientists across disciplines are required.

Minimum Education/Experience:

The candidate must have a PhD degree in Bioinformatics/Biostatistics/Biological Sciences or related fields with demonstrated experience in acquiring and analyzing data, strong analytical and creative problem-solving, good understanding of statistics, and prior experience in analysis of omics and/or epidemiology data. Extensive research experience in biomedical sciences with preference in molecular epidemiology and training in the collection and analysis of population based and/or omics based data.
