The Select Group is looking for a Research Software Engineer in San Diego, CA This research software engineer will work as a member of the research team playing a key role in the creation, optimization, and implementation of new processes and for the analysis of genotypic and phenotypic data for precision health. Research software engineer position responsibilities:
- This research software engineer will work as a member of the research team playing a key role in the creation, optimization, and implementation of new processes and for the analysis of genotypic and phenotypic data for precision health
- Design and evaluate novel approaches for handling high volume real-time data streams
- Code using primarily C++, C, Python, Java, Scala in a Unix/Linux
- Interface with Research Scientists
- Prototype, develop, test new algorithms
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Quantitative genomics, Biostatistics, Signal Processing, Natural Language Processing (PhD preferred – May accept B.S. with good industry experience). May accept related Engineering / Scientific degrees
- Coding experience with C++, Java, Scala, Python
- Experience in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with genomics
- Publication Experience
- Must have published research that shows strategy behind research, evidence gathering, hypothesis/theory creation, etc.
- Cloud Data experience
Requeriments :
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in computational biology
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Computer Science
- Technical Bachelor
