Job Description:
The Industrial and Applied Genomics Group of the Accelerated Discovery Lab at IBM Research is looking for a summer intern in software engineering, to work on development and research on scalable and robust services for scientific computation deployed in the Cloud.

The intern will participate in one or more projects to extend and enrich the team’s facilities. Some candidate projects include:

· Automated testing and Continuous Integration for informatics-based services

· Development and deployment of machine-learning analysis in cloud-based informatics systems

· Kubernetes deployment of science applications

· Advanced visualization of genomic data and statistical analysis results in a web application

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Programming skill and experience in Typescript, Javascript, Java, and/or Python
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience:
  • Familiarity with cloud-based application development and deployment; git and GitHub; devops tools and methodologies
