Job Description:
To further strengthen our Bioinformatics team, we are looking for a talented: Scientist Genome Bioinformatics.

Vacancy number 18.010

Position:

As Scientist Genome Bioinformatics you will contribute to the development of innovative bioinformatics methods and their application in the field of plant biotech and breeding. You will work on very challenging plant genome analyses using data from third generation sequencing technologies. In close collaboration with researchers and scientists from other research teams you will develop cutting edge plant breeding applications that build on the extraordinary potential of our in house single molecule sequencers and supported by a state-of-the-art HPC environment. You will work in a team of seven bioinformatics professionals, which is part of KeyGene’s Bioinformatics & Modeling department.

Desired skills and expertise:

• PhD degree in Bioinformatics/Computer Science or related field

• Strong background in whole-genome analysis and excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with third generation genomic technologies

• Experience with Linux and parallel computing on clusters and or cloud infrastructure

• Advanced programming skills (fluent in at least Python or Perl)

• Ambition to work in a pioneering research field

• Enthusiastic team-player with good communication skills in English and a ”can do” attitude
