Blueprint Medicines is seeking a Scientist, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics to assist drug discovery process. The ideal candidate will lead target identification effort using internal and external datasets, as well as support scientific computation and bioinformatics effort from early target discovery, optimization to late stage translational medicine investigation. Blueprint Medicines is seeking a Scientist, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics to assist drug discovery process. The ideal candidate will lead target identification effort using internal and external datasets, as well as support scientific computation and bioinformatics effort from early target discovery, optimization to late stage translational medicine investigation. This will be an exciting opportunity to be involved in various stages of the drug discovery process using your computational and analytical skills, and working in an innovative, motivating and collaborative environment. Responsibilities:
- Analyze public and internal genomics data to facilitate novel target identification, patient stratification and hypothesis generation
- Collaborate with biologists to drive genomics studies, generate results and provide insights in a timely manner
- Curate clinically generated data, analyze treatment outcome and device follow-up strategies.
- Develop and optimize tools for data organization, integration and sample tracking
- Document algorithms and contribute to internal knowledge building
- PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or related disciplines, or BS/MS with 1+ years in computational biology experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Proficient with scripting languages such as R and python, statistical tools and workflows used in genomics data analysis and databases, and data visualization
- Comprehensive knowledge of biological systems and common experimental approaches to address biological questions
- Track record of successfully working in cross-function teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, result-driven environment
- Effective listener, clear communicator and quick learner
