Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Thermo Scientific Clinical Diagnostics R&D team is a group of passionate individuals dedicated to changing the way medicine is practiced. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated scientist to work in a fast-paced environment and develop diagnostics at the cutting edge of technology and medicine. This position will be an integral part of advancing genetic analysis in the clinical market. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is passionate about delivering simple, effective, customer-focused diagnostics.

Position Responsibilities:
Product development using NGS, qPCR, immunoassay, or other technologies.
This is a hands on bench scientist position with a focus on validation and tech transfer.
Documentation under design control to ensure quality product development.
Performs statistical analysis and practices DOE methods.
Provides innovative ideas for new products and intellectual property.
Collaborates with molecular biologists, biochemists, bioinformatics, engineers, product managers, customer support, other internal teams and external scientists.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree + 5 years experience or Masters + 3 years experience or PhD + 1 year of industry related experience in biotech diagnostics. Education in the following majors: Molecular Biology / Genetics / Biochemistry.
Trained in ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820 Quality Systems Regulation, GLP/GMP.
Multidisciplinary technical background is highly desirable.
Can clearly document laboratory work and write SOPs.
Deep understanding of assay development and validation is essential.
Is extremely fast and can quickly deliver on goals.
Has a passion for problem solving and outside-the-box thinking.
Must be very organized.
Strong communication skills are essential.
Must be highly collaborative; Must have the ability to work within a diverse team.
Must contribute to a supportive, positive work environment.
Self-motivated, independent, and a proactive driving force of execution
Willingness to take on new challenges.
Willingness to be highly creative, flexible, and adaptable in a complex, matrixed environment.
Able to adapt quickly to changing needs caused by time, budget, or other constraints.

Additional Favorable Experience:
Experience with PMA submissions highly desirable.
Experience with immunodiagnostics a plus.
Statistical skills using current platforms eg. JMP *LI-TU1
