Scientist / Senior Scientist Bioinformatics Position Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled individual with experience in data management, and analysis and interpretation of omics data from microbial and mammalian sources, primarily focused on DNA and RNA sequencing, but could include all types of large, complex biological data. Experience with most of these skills will be essential: large data management, next generation sequence assembly of DNA and RNA, mapping and analysis software, genotyping algorithms and variant detection, CNV analysis, systems biology and pathway analysis, and annotation software. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary teams working with diverse models and biological systems to enhance development of products offered by Zoetis. Critical thinking and analysis and presentation skills are essential. The scientist will keep up to date with the latest developments in algorithms for analysis of next-generation sequencing and applications of sequencing and incorporation of large, diverse data into health solutions; especially for identification for disease targets, drug safety, immune responses and optimum performance of animals. Other responsibilities include giving internal and external presentations, keeping abreast of the latest developments in genomics and genome medicine, and maintaining external contacts. Knowledge of bioinformatics and specific knowledge of analysis of next generation sequencing is required. Education And Experience At least 4 years of experience post-graduate in analyzing and interpreting omics data, inclusive of post-graduate studies. Candidates with MS and/or Ph.D. in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Animal Genetics, Microbial Genetics, or related fields will be preferred.
