Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated computational biologist/bioinformatician with expertise in biomarker discovery to join our research team. The successful candidate will contribute to target validation, biomarker discovery, and mechanism-of-action studies. Demonstrated expertise in modern data analysis techniques applied to -omics technologies is a critical component of the successful applicant. Other aspects of the role include technology innovation and implementation of analytical methodologies for the characterization of discovery-stage therapeutic candidates.

Education:

MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or Systems Biology with 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in an academic or industry setting (new PhD grads are encouraged to apply)

Qualifications:

  • Background in developing and implementing pipelines for analyzing high-throughput “omics” datasets (such as genomics, transcriptomics or proteomics)
  • Pre-clinical or clinical theauraputic development experience is desirable
  • Experience with oncology biomarker discovery highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in data curation, data mining and an ability to interrogate, interpret, and visualize large genomic datasets
  • Identifies molecular features from genomics datasets that correlate with clinical outcomes.
  • Previous analysis experience with short read NGS data, variant detection methods, variant annotation and QC metrics.
  • Proficiency with a high-level scripting language (e.g. Python, R, Perl) required Experience working in linux and cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Strong background in implementing statistical learning methods (e.g. regularized regression, PCA, logistic regression, classification techniques, clustering etc.)
  • Strong background in standard inferential statistics, including, robust techniques and survival modeling
  • Prior experience working with large-scale genetics and genomics datasets (Big Data)
  • Familiarity and experience with NCBI, RefSeq, Ensembl, TCGA, Cosmic, UCSC, ClinVar, DECIPHER, ENCODE, 1000 Genomes
