Job Description:
Q Squared Solutions LLC, Morrisville, North Carolina (may telecommute from Raleigh-Durham, NC area and report electronically to the Morrisville, NC work site). Multiple openings. Develop novel approaches to addressing complex problems in NGS data analysis (e.g. circulating tumor DNA variant calling, immune-oncology, etc.). Perform detailed and custom next generation sequencing analysis tasks, including efficient scripts for data formatting/processing and representing data in mathematical software. Provide expertise in working with clients for hypothesis elucidation and testing. Perform experimental design, fixed and random effects modeling and working, correlated data (e.g. time series, survival, etc.), dimension reduction techniques (e.g. PCA, SVD, LDA, etc.) and data mining/model selection methods (e.g. neural networks, LASSO, etc.). Supply knowledge of statistical analysis of clinical trials. Use classification and prediction modeling of real world data, including both benchmarking third party software and developing novel algorithms. Develop programming documentation including plans and specifications, as appropriate. Scope and estimate resources, then execute on the analysis of client projects. Provide advanced technical expertise in conjunction with internal and external clients, and independently bring project solutions to teams and department. Perform and plan the development, implementation and validation of new product technologies and applications. Lead department and/or cross-functional project teams tackling different initiatives. Provide training and guidance to new staff. Qualifications: Occasionally supervise one (1) intern. Requires a Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related or equivalent and (if Bachelor’s 5, if Master’s 3, if PhD 1) years of progressively responsible experience. The experience must include (if Bachelor’s 5, if Master’s 3, if PhD 1) years: Linux or UNIX; HW-SW interfaces, storage, networking; C or C++, Perl, Python, Shell scripting within Bash environment or similar; SQL, R, SAS or related analysis software; pandas, pysam, DESeq2 within a bioinformatics workflow; Java; statistical methods and analysis of clinical trials; working with clients for hypothesis elucidation and testing; correlated data (e.g. time series, survival, etc.), dimension reduction techniques (e.g. PCA, SVD, LDA, etc.); data mining or model selection methods (e.g. neural networks, LASSO, etc.); and classification and prediction modeling of real world data- benchmarking third party software and the development of novel algorithms. Requires less than 10% domestic and international travel to attend client meetings conferences and internal company trainings.
