Job Description:
Dovetail’s Informatics group is expanding, and is in need of a talented computational biologist. The successful candidate will join a collaborative computational team that is engaged in all aspects of the company’s activities, including delivering genome assemblies to customers, developing new genome analysis tools, and supporting internal research and development. They will play a key role in Dovetail’s transition from our Beta Program to a full commercial offering. Primary duties will focus on applying our analysis pipeline to customer data, and carrying out research to support continuous improvement of the pipeline. Required Skills and Experience:

- PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience analyzing nextgeneration sequence data
- Excellent communication skills
- Deep understanding of genomics and current challenges in data analysis, and a desire to develop and deliver solutions to these challenges
- Comfort discussing technical bioinformatics questions with both specialists and nonspecialists
- Organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver highquality results in a timely manner
- Fluency in python, java, c or c++ and experience developing bioinformatics analysis tools
