Job Description:
Under general supervision of the Information Technology Services Portfolio Manager, serve as a Senior Product Developer working on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Initiatives. As a subject matter expert with expertise in one or more of the filed related to Risk and Safety Solution products, including but not limited to: Chemistry, Biology, Radiation, Laboratory Safety, Hospital Safety; Work closely with customers and business contacts to design, develop, and implement product plans and proposals that address the functional needs of system wide EH&S Technology Initiatives and identify associated priorities, opportunities and risks. Provide extensive functional requirements gathering during the analysis phase of the software development cycle for web based applications. Interact with a wide array of units throughout the UC system, including the Medical Centers. Work closely with faculty researchers and EH&S staff in various roles including Product Champions, stakeholders, and other subject matter experts. Solicit, translate and document client needs into specific and detailed software requirements. Work closely with development teams as a Subject Matter Expert, to translate functional requirements to technical user stories, acceptance criteria, process flow diagrams, functional specifications, and other necessary project documentation. Prioritize business requirements based on thorough analysis of data and information gathered; propose methods to maximize efficiencies, both technical and nontechnical. Employ technical capabilities to advance ERM and EH&S program goals and resource needs. Provide support to the Portfolio Manager to maintain project timelines and ensure outstanding service to the clients and Project Sponsors. Work with Product Management to identify and pursue opportunities to create value for users. Develop lean practices with clients and users to streamline their business processes. Physical Demands: Sit and use computer equipment for extended periods. Move computer equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Work Environment: -Occasional travel required. Travel between campus and off campus locations. -Work flexible or extended hours as needed based on workload demands. -Personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions. -Work with clients for extended periods of time. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree in a field related to Risk and Safety Solutions development, such as but not limited to: Chemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics, Radiation, or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Product development experience to lead a team through the system development lifecycle including development and implementation of project planning documents appropriate to the situation; develop product vision, roadmap, themes, risk mitigation plans; develop and apply Agile project methodologies to the situation. -Experience using Agile methods, concepts and theories in situations to solve problems, classify and organize data, deconstruct components, combine and relating knowledge from several areas to reach a preferred outcome. -Experience documenting, comparing, and contrasting requirements gathered from multiple parties and organizing, interpreting, and presenting them in a way that allows for all opinions to be considered and for involved stakeholders to prioritize their needs efficiency. -Experience developing best practices and reviewing competing products. -Analytical experience with learning unfamiliar processes for multiple business functions from multiple enterprise sources, and translating that functional knowledge into technical requirements for simultaneous projects in a timely manner. -Skills to build consensus and manage competing stakeholders' expectations. -Experience leading subject matter expert workgroups for multiple projects to elicit and document user requirements, and translating those requirements into user stories with valid acceptance criteria. -Facilitation experience in conducting business requirements workshops and sessions with subject matter experts located both remotely and on site. -Customer Service experience promoting software to industry and other interested external clients. Experience working effectively in a service oriented team environment. -Oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including faculty and staff and presenting complex concepts and recommendations clearly for management decision making purposes. Preferred Qualifications: -Advanced degree in a field related to Risk and Safety Solutions development, such as but not limited to: Chemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics, Radiation, or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Experience working in Environmental Health and Safety or Risk Management -Experience working in a laboratory setting as a researcher or research assistant. - Experience working in a large university or Hospital -Experience using computers for word processing, electronic mail, calendaring and development of presentations and reports, and experience using web conferencing software. -Skills to absorb complex technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and nontechnical individual's at all organizational levels. -Experience with Lean Process Management, working with business stakeholders to streamline their processes. -Experience working effectively with broad based constituencies and the highest levels of management. - Experience in strategic planning and change management, including planning, analyzing and evaluating programs and approaches. -Experience training faculty, managers, and technical staff on product functionality and developing training guides and other appropriate training documentation or tools.Requeriments :
