Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced product manager to guide and manage software product development and commercialization. This strategic position will be an integral part of the commercial team, and will play an important role in ensuring the very best user experience. With a solid understanding of models for software deployment, molecular biology design tools and bioinformatics, the software product manager will identify and translate user needs into product specifications, delighting our customers and driving adoption of Muse technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a highly cross-functional team to build and ship commercial software design products into the market.
  • Conduct market assessments and develop business models for new products .
  • Translate high-level use cases into actionable product requirements and product development specifications .
  • Develop software deployment strategy in order to meet customers’ needs while driving commercial objectives.
  • Work with highly cross-functional project teams.
  • Communicate and interact closely with key stakeholders including internal development team and external customers .
  • Gather and test use-cases and feature development to build out best-in-class user experiences, resulting in intuitive experimental designs and seamless commercial integration.
  • Test and refine designs & prototypes with users and stakeholders to ensure software product deliverables meet expectations.
  • Contribute to the roadmap and help drive product strategy across the organization.
Skills and Experience:
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in bioinformatics, computer science, engineering, math, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience in software product management or support in a life science company (preferably in a startup environment) .
  • Demonstrated experience translating high-level strategies and visions into product requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders with varying degrees of technical knowledge .
  • Experience with customer interviews, user testing, and other user-centric research and design programs.
  • Experience in commercializing genomic software, domain expertise in instrument operations and/or protein engineering a plus.
  • Successful track-record of taking multiple software products from conception to launch.
