We are seeking applicants for a Senior Programmer position to create and maintain a database containing phenotypic and genetic information for an Alzheimer’s disease research project. This person will be also in charge of processing and QC some genetic data. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking applicants for a Senior Programmer position to create and maintain a database containing phenotypic and genetic information for an Alzheimer’s disease research project. This person will be also in charge of processing and QC some genetic data. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with PI on the design, conduct and reporting of research projects.
- Create and maintain and database (SAS/ FilemarkerPro or others) that contains all the phenotypic information.
- Write scripts for easy query of the database.
- To write and run scripts for WES, WGS and RNA-seq processing and QC.
- Manages research project with other institutions and investigators.
- Master or PhD in statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Statistical Genetics, Medical Statistics, Mathematics or similar.
- Strong background in programing, Unix, scripting, SAS (or similar) and in databases.
- Knowledge of GWAS QC and analyses, second-generation sequencing QC, and multivariate and mixed model analyses.

Job Type/Schedule: This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Psychiatry. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $64,291 - $83,616 annually.
