Job Description:
We are seeking applicants for a Senior Programmer position to create and maintain a database containing phenotypic and genetic information for an Alzheimer’s disease research project. This person will be also in charge of processing and QC some genetic data.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with PI on the design, conduct and reporting of research projects.
  • Create and maintain and database (SAS/ FilemarkerPro or others) that contains all the phenotypic information.
  • Write scripts for easy query of the database.
  • To write and run scripts for WES, WGS and RNA-seq processing and QC.
  • Manages research project with other institutions and investigators.
Required Qualifications: Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 6 years of programmer analyst experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master or PhD in statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Statistical Genetics, Medical Statistics, Mathematics or similar.
  • Strong background in programing, Unix, scripting, SAS (or similar) and in databases.
  • Knowledge of GWAS QC and analyses, second-generation sequencing QC, and multivariate and mixed model analyses.

    Job Type/Schedule: This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week.

    Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of Psychiatry. This position is for the Medical School Campus.

    Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $64,291 - $83,616 annually.
