Job description The successful candidate will join a team of Ph.D. Bioinformatics software developer scientists whose primary roles are hands-on data integration of genomics data, analysis and visualization of diverse biological and chemical data sets. The main role of the candidate is to develop methods for the analysis of RNASeq data and other transcriptional profiling technologies, and proteomics data. This role requires direct involvement in the design and implementation of new platforms, tools and analytic methods and leveraging the resources within the group to address the needs listed above. Desired Skills and Experience The candidate must have either a M.Sc and 3 year of experience or a Ph. D and one year of experience in the fields of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related disciplines. A solid understanding of biological systems and the drug development process is desirable. The candidate should have a proven track record of developing bioinformatics tools and intimate knowledge of common bioinformatics data analysis, next generation sequencing (in particular RNASeq) and data integration. Extensive experience authoring software in one or more server-side programming languages (Perl, Python, Java, C++, etc.) is required. Knowledge of dynamic web programming (Javascript) and service-oriented design is a plus. Knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle, Postgresql, Mysql) and statistically oriented languages (R, Matlab) is highly desirable. Intimate knowledge of Linux or Unix is essential. Good communication skills are critical. Previous experience in one of the following disease biology areas is desirable: oncology, immunology, immuno-oncology, heart failure, fibrosis or genetic diseases.
