Job Description:

The Sr. Software Engineer:

1) develops applications, RESTful APIs, and CLI scripts using Ruby on Rails/Sinatra, Python, GitHub, and similar/related technologies on a Linux/Mac OS X environment.

2) designs, and writes production-ready Ruby code and RSpec test which meets the software technical and business requirements in an Agile/DevOps environment.

3) develops design patterns, writes clean code, and builds applications rapidly.

4) acts as a mentor to our junior engineer staff, and 5) provides a complex understanding of Ruby, Gems, RVM, CLI, and quickly creates solutions.

•Basic Qualifications:

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Biomedical Science, Computer Science, Biotechnology or Bioinformatics, or four (4) years related experience in lieu of degree.

Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

Six (6) years of relevant software development experience developing applications.

Mac OSX and/or Linux environment.

CBIIT: The mission of the Data Science and Information Technology Program (DSITP) is to develop an enterprise-level, consolidated information technology infrastructure that provides exceptional IT capabilities to the Frederick National Labs for Cancer Research (NCI-Frederick/FNLCR) in support of basic, translational, and clinical cancer and AIDS research. The CBIIT Technical Operations Support (CTOS) Group is part of the DSITP within Leidos Biomed.
