Job Description:
We are in need of (1.0 FTE) Sr. Scientist/Engineer. The BTO office is seeking technical support staff with capabilities to help build an emerging program to identify epigenetic evidence of exposure to specific CBRNe agents and their precursors. The qualified candidate should possess significant (4+ years) of laboratory experience in bisulfite sequencing or Methseq array analysis, or equivalent experience in epigenetic bioinformatics. A PhD in molecular biology, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, or other relevant field is required, while postdoctoral or equivalent industry experience is desired. Each applicant should have a deep knowledge of emerging trends in DNA sequencing and ideally the candidate would have some knowledge or experience in clinical molecular diagnostic platform development, to include familiarity with the FDA medical device approval process (e.g. Device complexity, 510k, and PMA processes). The ideal applicant should have excellent verbal and written skills as well as a willingness to learn completely new research subjects (as needed) to support the mission. Finally, the position will require interaction with epigenetics and molecular diagnostics world leaders in both industry and academia.
