Basic Function and Scope of the Position:

Plans, designs, develops and tests in one of the following disciplines: hardware, software, electronics, system design, mechanical design or similar which support development activities at the company.

Tasks and Responsibilities: Contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge software solutions Participate in all aspects of our agile development process, from iteration planning to daily scrum meetings to end-of-iteration demos Maintain system requirements, design, and test documentation As a member of our integrations team, you will estimate and take on responsibility for the design and development of complex integrations between BaseSpace LIMS and laboratory systems including scientific instruments Participate in identifying new technologies and network with technical thought leaders in the department Validate data in system tests using various tools Troubleshoot system problems

Preferred Educational Background: B.S., M.S., Ph.D or equivalent in Engineering required.
Preferred Experiential Background: 2+ years’ relevant experience. Understanding of Java programming language Experience with Groovy programming language preferred but not required Experience with developing and consuming RESTful APIs Familiarity with SQL Experience with Agile methodologies in a production environment Passion and excitement about latest trends in software development Experience writing technical documentation for consumption by customers Excellent interdepartmental communication skills required Excellent analytical and organizational skills required Strong experience with software design preferred Experience with at least one testing framework (JUnit, TestNG) Experience with build systems (e.g. Maven)
