Job Description:
Support the design, development, and implementation of solutions that serve the rapid, accurate and automated analysis and reporting of complex biological, biochemical or other data sets. Required Skills: -Proficiency in biochemical data analytics and software development, specifically in computational methods for protein structure predictions; including experience in homology modeling, protein folding, and generalized experience in structural bioinformatics -Experience operating and analyzing data from mass spectrometry instruments (e.g., Agilent Q-Exactive Plus), especially for use in protein, peptide, or other large molecule sequencing/identification -Significant experience performing shotgun LC-MS/MS a plus -Proficiency in Python, R, Linux, C++, machine learning, Git, and agile software development is preferred -The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to interact effectively with individuals on multi-disciplinary teams -Ability to code from requirement, functional, and/or design documents -Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate in English, both verbally and written -Demonstrated time management and completion of tasks to a definite deadline Primary Responsibilities: -Apply in-depth knowledge of protein structure, function, and experience in the development of software-based tools, to create innovative products (software/hardware) that aid in accurate modeling and prediction of protein function -Apply experience in protein function, protein data analysis, and software development to support a variety of research and development projects related to public safety, defense and national security -Collaborate across multiple scientific and technical disciplines and cross-functional teams and clients to define, design and deploy enhancements and technical solutions that meet the needs of the company, its clients, and the end-users -Drive innovation and research, evaluate and implement new technology to optimize application efficiency, reliability and usability -Maintain records to document technical and functional developments and revisions. Balance multiple on-going tasks while operating efficiently with minimal supervision -Additional job functions may include internal research and development, proposal writing support, and business development -Domestic travel may be required Education: B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in relevant field, such as Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or Biology Years of Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in development of computational methods for protein structure predictions
