Job Description:
This Software Engineer will be working on the software that is used in the clinical laboratory to process patient samples and analyze their genomic profiles, finding the right treatment options for cancer patients based on a simple blood draw. Your role would be to implement infrastructure and create applications in support of the automated lab workflow and bioinformatics software pipelines used for research and clinical patient testing. As part of the team you will be responsible for: RESPONSIBILITIES -Design and implement applications in support of clinical laboratory workflow management -Design and implement software frameworks to support the bioinformatics pipeline and data processing -Provide written documentation and specifications of software products and services. -Implement and manage the packaging and deployment of applications and services -Develop scripts and applications for research and development activities -Evaluate, test, and use open-source software and applications -Interface with all teams to obtain requirements and support deployed applications. -Bioinformatics experience is beneficial. ABOUT YOU - If you are a dedicated Software Engineer with the following experience who holds: -B.S. in Computer Science or related field -3+ years experience developing software in production environment -Strong understanding of Python or C/C++, and data structures -Demonstrated knowledge and experience using object-oriented programming and design patterns in production environments -Working knowledge of Django and DRF -Working knowledge of managing and deploying Docker (or other virtualization technologies) -Experience working with a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL -The following experience is preferred: advanced knowledge of Django and DRf; implementing or managing compute clusters (SGE, HPC, Mesos, etc), working knowledge of HTML / JavaScript, manipulation of large data sets and visualizations, i.e. matplotlib -Demonstrable ability to perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position -Effective communicator with written and verbal fluency in English -Detail oriented with an initiative to drive tasks to completion -Ability to work well in a rapid-pace startup environment -Ability to work well in a group and independently with minimal supervision -We would like to talk with you about our exciting projects we currently have ongoing.
