How will you make an impact? The Software and Bioinformatics organization within the Clinical Sequencing Division is looking for an exceptional leader for the Torrent Suite Software Development team. The team supports the Ion Torrent semiconductor DNA sequencing product line with a software platform that is central to the success of the platform. The unique Ion Torrent DNA sequencing technology acquires data at a rate of Terabytes per hour. High-performance and reliable software is essential for bringing customers from data to actionable insights in fields including Oncology, Infectious Diseases and Reproductive Health. What will you do? The candidate will be part of the team that will develop and enhance the Torrent Suite Software, a software product is crucial for the all of our division product launches. - B.S. or MS in Computer Science or related subject
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in commercial software environment
- Proficiency in one or more object oriented language such as Java, C++, C#, Python
- Proficiency with one or more web frameworks such as Django, Spring, Flask, React, AngularJS, and ASP.NET
- Proficiency in Java and Spring/Hibernate is a plus.
- Solid experience working with UNIX and Linux environment including package build and configuration and deployment, OS virtualization and containerization.
- Experience with high performance computing cluster is a plus
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to colleagues with varying ranges of technical background
- Last but not least, a passion for working with new technology and for exploring new tools and processes to improve productivity
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
