Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Software architecture, design and implementation with a focus on algorithm development, high performance and efficient implementation of domain algorithms, and performance optimization.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years of experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PhD a plus.
- Expertise in algorithm development and implementation, with focus on relevant technologies:
- Image processing and recognition, enhancement, registration.
- Geometric transformations, quantization, and digital compositing operations.
- Image file-formats, data structures and compression.
- High performance scientific computing, including real time processing, and parallel and distributed computing.
- Expertise with C/C++, GPU, and both Linux/Unix and Windows environments; C# a plus.
- Strong algorithm and implementation skills.
- Experience in software performance optimization.
- Knowledge of signal processing algorithms and techniques a plus.
- Knowledge of industry standard image processing libraries a plus.
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical processing a plus.
- Bioinformatics, scientific computing or numerical processing, and algorithm performance optimization experience a plus.
