Job Description:
To support Guardant’s leadership in disruption of cancer treatments, the Enterprise software team is looking for an experienced and energetic software quality engineer to help build a scalable quality assurance automation infrastructure. The Enterprise software team is a driven group of software engineers, QA, DevOps and IT specialists who are passionate about software technologies and strive for positively impacting patients lives through innovation and engineering excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the Enterprise team, you will:

-Participate in requirements and design review meetings to create comprehensive (automation) test strategies/plans

-Design, create, enhance, and maintain detailed automated testing frameworks and test-ware libraries including the coding of scalable, reusable components and functions

-Build advanced automated test suites to exercise API, backend, frontend components and UIs.

-Provide accurate planning, clear strategies, and milestones for (automation) testing leading to successful implementation and timely project completion

-Report, track and escalate anomalies discovered during testing (All testing phases) and ensure closure on issues

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and robust execution of (automation) testing as part of a regular release schedule

-Continually research new automation testing tools and techniques and evaluate them for opportunities for improvement.

-Assist with defining and implementing software quality improvement initiatives

-Train and mentor team members on automation processes, concepts and best practices.

-Perform other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU:

-You enjoy an agile, fast paced and highly technical environment. You are comfortable driving an automation framework from inception to birth.

-You have the ability to understand system architecture, design, implementation and succinctly develop the automation strategy to deliver high-quality results.

-You can work proactively, independently and as part of a team on multiple tasks and projects, and quickly learn new technologies. You can mentor and educate team members, take and provide constructive feedback.

In addition, you bring:

-Dedication to making a difference

-8+ years of hands on experience in scripting, running, analyzing, and refining automation frameworks for comprehensive and full application testing, including API testing (Mobile devices are a plus)

-8+ years of hands on experience with programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, JavaScript Knowledge of CI tools like Jenkins or CircleCI

-Excellent knowledge of automation tools like Selenium, UFT (Formerly QTP), Telerik, Visual Studio Coded UI, SOAPUI, Fiddler, Firebug

-Experience with test case management system and tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, TestNG, NUnit, JUnit

-Solid understanding of automation testing best practices and architecture for scalability and maintainability

-Hands-on experience with RDBMS (SQL or Oracle) and software dev/QA in Linux environment

-Excellent organizational and people skills with the ability to mentor team members and educate others on automation testing principles and methodologies

-Experience working in an Agile/Scrum-like environment

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Experience in working in a regulated environment (CLIA, HIPAA, SOX, and FDA) is a plus

-B.S or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related study or equivalent project experience
