Job Description:
The job’s main responsibility is to collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians to design and perform structural analyses. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : -Provide structural biology support to variant analyses by analyzing and interpreting structural-function relationship. -Expand our current in house-structural database. -Develop new methods and protocols for structural modeling and dynamics. -Work with statisticians in validation of new methods, including data collection and analysis algorithms. -Develop features/tools assisting clinical and genetic analysis on in house analysis platform. -Support bioinformatics, R&D and reporting team for clinical research projects. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS : -PhD degree in computational biology, structural biology, biophysics, bioinformatics. -Familiar with molecular biology, biological pathways, and genomics. -Strong knowledge of current theories and principals of computational structural biology. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES : -Proficiency in the use of bioinformatics software, packages, and databases. -Proficiency with Perl, Python, R, bash, C/C++, java, and SQL in Linux/Unix environment. -Proficiency in utilizing and development bio-molecular modeling and dynamics tools. -Excellent oral and written communication skills. -Ability to work within a team, among cross-departments, and as an independent contributor, requiring minimal supervision. EXPERIENCE : -Recent, or soon to graduate, PhD students in related fields are encouraged to apply. -3 years experience in research and development experiments in the related fields. -2 years post-doctoral research experience and/or industrial experiences in computational biology are required. -Experiences in using high performance computing and storage systems.
