Job Description:
Within the project, specific enzymes shall be characterized and afterwards optimized by protein engineering to adopt them to desired biocatalytic process properties. Besides protein engineering, this also involves process optimization by reaction engineering to facilitate later scale-up. Additionally, participation is expected in project-wide network activities such as periodical progress meetings, dissemination and workshops.



Required Education and Skills:

• Completed PhD in the field of Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related

• Strong background in enzymology and the application of enzymes in biocatalysis

• Practical experience in molecular biology and protein engineering

• Expertise in chemical analytics (GC, HPLC, NMR, etc.)

• Self-motivated, pro-active, team- and goal-oriented personality

• Full command of the English language; knowledge of the German language is an advantage but not compulsory
