Job Description:
The group is looking for a Data Curator to manage data outputs from NGS pipelines, run QC analysis for the Genomics pipelines. The candidate must be able to support and maintain data / code for Research, Individuals in this role are expected to be comfortable working with a software developers and researchers.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities:

-Develop and manage development of the specification documents for database tables, data entry screens, data derivations and edit check programming.

-Complete and manage testing of database and edit checks.

-Interface with the user and/or sites and monitors as needed to manage the data collection and cleaning.

-Ensure databases are validated and ready for transfer and/or analyses.

-Report progress against schedules to management as appropriate.

-Generate Reports for Principle Investigator or Project Manager, to ensure completion of assignments within established timelines.

-Bachelor degree or above in Bioinformatics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.

-Previous data management experience, Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle-based systems) and experience -using multiple data management systems.

-Strong sense of responsibility and dedication.

-Excellent interpersonal skills.

Skills/ Abilities/ Competencies Required:

-Working knowledge of at least one industry-relevant relational database application, Oracle preferred.

-Ability to work in a Linux environment

-Outstanding analytical skills

-Experience working with large data sets, experience working with distributed computing tools a plus (R, Java, PHP and MongoDB)

-Ability to work in a team

The Bioinformatics group at the Channing Division of Network Medicine provides Informatics level support to the Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Systems Genetics and Genomics lab to help them with their data storage, biorepository, genotyping requirements and the Researchers with their analysis, data management and other research needs.
