Job Description:

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellow to study structure-based design and modeling of immune recognition and vaccines at the University of Maryland Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR). Developing and employing cutting-edge algorithms to accurately model and engineer proteins of therapeutic and medical interest, we are located in a state-of-the-art facility in Rockville, MD with outstanding collaborators in structural biology, immunology, and vaccine design. Projects include developing improved algorithms and energy functions to predict and engineer antibody binding, designing novel vaccine immunogens, and modeling and design of T cell receptor structure and antigen specificity

Qualifications:  Ph.D. in bioinformatics, biochemistry, or related field.

• Experience with protein modeling algorithms, including Rosetta;

• Experience in computational protein design, protein-protein docking and/or protein folding;

• Some familiarity with immune recognition, and antibody or TCR structure, is a plus;

• Some wet lab experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization is also a plus, but not required;

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary team setting;

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
