Based just outside of San Diego, we are a VC-Backed Series B Biotechnology start-up seeking our first VP / Head of Data Science and Bioinformatics whom will report directly into the CEO. In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership in both bioinformatics, data analysis and software development activities supporting the technology pipeline and partnerships. We have a unique and differentiated approach which is setting us apart from many companies in our industry. If you are a Director / VP / Head of Data Science and/or Bioinformatics with ideally a MS and PhD(strongly preferred) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a similar field and 7+ year's of professional experience, please read on! - Develop and code software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to integrate and evaluate large data sets
- Participate in the design of the processes, and the implementation of data analysis improvements to establish best-in-practice operations

What You Need for this Position
More Than 7 Years Of Experience And Knowledge Of:- MS Degree Required, PhD(Strongly preferred) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics or related field
- Life Sciences / Biotechnology Background
- Biology Experience
- Technology driven background and experience leading / developing Data Science and Engineering teams
- Next Generation Sequencing(NGS)
- Scripting / Coding in Python, Java, C++, GO, etc
- High Performance / Cloud Computing background

Requeriments :
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
