Job Description:
The VP of Engineering is expected to position the company’s SaaS solutions as a leader in the healthcare industry. A hands-on technical leader, the individual in this integral role is responsible for the Company’s technology platform roadmap and development of software for our products and solutions by leading the software development team and assuring consistent and high-quality SaaS delivery of the company’s machine-learning based products. Overall, the VP of Engineering will define the Company’s systems architecture in support of the business strategy to include architecting scalable, supportable, maintainable, robust, and high-performing solutions. Maintaining knowledge of state-of-the-art machine learning technology, as well as emerging technologies, is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Team Management & Development:

  • Assure that GNS’s technology solutions, support, and services align with the company’s short and long-term goals and create unsurpassed value for clients.
  • Create a seamless solution delivery operation including software development, analytics, machine learning and SaaS operations.
  • Lead by example through participation and involvement in, and oversight of, development and SaaS operations.
  • Recruit and retain a world-class team of software engineers.
Platforms Development:
  • Further develop/evolve state-of-the-art, robust, scalable, and flexible platforms to ensure GNS Healthcare maintains a long-term competitive advantage.
  • In collaboration with product management and R&D, develop our cutting-edge platforms roadmap.
  • Manage and enhance GNS’s agile processes for rapid development and fast R&D to-market results.
  • Manage timely execution of development projects, including solution architecture recommendations, prioritization, integration of the analytic and development functions, establishing scopes and timelines, resource allocation, and measuring the quality of deliverables.
  • Act as the escalation point for development, release, and support of GNS platforms.
Qualifications:

.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, applied math; advanced degree preferred in bioinformatics

.10+ years of software engineering experience; 3+ years of senior leadership experience

.5+ years of experience working inside an enterprise software technology product company

.Experience with analytics, particularly in machine learning environments

.Knowledge and practical experience of product development life cycle and Agile development methodology

.Experience in healthcare industry, a plus

.Hands-on experience with SaaS operations and web applications

.Proven experience in software planning, organization, and development

.Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis to day-to-day management

·Programming experience with C, C++, C#, R, Scala, Java, Python

· Enterprise architecture mindset and experience

Ability to align key stakeholders toward a common goal, drive results, and facilitate change Experience negotiating with vendors; ability to manage external relationships with contracting firms

·Superior problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

·Experience managing, coaching, developing, and inspiring direct reports
